Walkie Rider Training

Walkie Rider in a warehouse

The online Walkie & Walkie Rider safety course from AI Forklift Training Ltd. Is an OHSA-based program that teaches pre-operation machine inspection, safe operation, proper load handling, and safe operating procedures.

This course meets or exceeds the operator training requirements under OSHA’s Powered Industrial Trucks Standard (1910.178(l)) and meets the CSA standard B335-15. It is designed to help beginners and experienced operators inspect and operate safely.

The objective of the industrial training courses is to give employees an understanding of how to safely and operate safely. Training will train employees on how to identify health and safety hazards with safe operation.

An electric walkie/rider is a piece of equipment used to raise heavy loads a few inches off the ground and move it from one location to another. This may seem easy enough but can cause serious injury and possibly death if the operator is not trained on how to use the equipment safely.

According to the Ministry of Labor (MOL), It is a legal requirement for every employer to have their employees professionally trained and certified before allowing them to operate any type of motorized machine.

In Canada, there are many accidents, and the main contributor is improper training and not following proper safety procedures. Proper instructor lead training courses help minimize accidents, injuries, and worst-case deaths. Taking the proper training it will make the workplace a safer place for everyone.

This machine is also known as a pallet truck, electric hand truck, and pallet jack. This machine is mainly used for low-level order picking. It is quick for loading, offloading, and moving products around the warehouse.

The name “Electric power truck” means that these machines are electrically powered. After training the operator will have been trained on the proper safety and handling, battery care, and maintenance.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

•Identify the basic controls

•How to perform a pre-inspection

•Safely operation including picking up, traveling, placing a load, and parking in a designated area

•Recognize common hazards and ways to avoid them
